This work aims to evaluate the acoustic behavior of hospitality environments located on the Campus of University of Aveiro. In the present study three dining venues (Santiago's Canteen, Restaurant and Canteen from Complexo do Castro) with different periods of construction were considered. Through the application of a theoretical prediction formula and in situ measurements the reverberation time of the dining rooms was determined. The sound insulation of each space was also evaluated with in situ measurements and variation of the sound pressure level during the canteens' working time. In a final evaluation, a survey was conducted, with the aim of collecting the users' opinion about the acoustic conditions of the canteens. From the survey results it can be verified that noise, felt in each of the dining rooms, results in high levels of discomfort. The study suggests the need for implementation of constructive solutions, in order to provide a better acoustic environment.
