European Standard EN 12354-1:2000 allow to obtain the theoretical vibration reduction index from predictive formulas for a limited set of junction conditions FLEXIBLE INTERLAYER. Another option is to use the ISO 10848-1:2006, by measurements of the velocity level difference between the elements of a junction and its structural reverberation time. Available options of the EN 12354-1 are limited. Specifically, it does not refer to any type of corner-junction with flexible interlayer. Furthermore, in the predictive formula there is no frequency dependence. This paper studies the effect of using a flexible interlayer in a corner-junction in a scale model. The measures of the velocity level difference were obtained by Nearfield Acoustical Holography and with the technique using accelerometers. The results allow to quantify the effect of the flexible interlayer in the transmission path, and propose new equations that complete the options of EN 12354-1.
