摘要

The paper compares mechanical properties of spruce and pine depending on the origin and loading mode. Different grading models are used and evaluated comparing characteristic values and yields. It is shown, that timber from Eastern Europe could be graded with a complex model derived for timber from Central and Northern Europe. However the yield for spruce from Eastern Europe tested in bending is significantly lower. For timber loaded in tension it seems possible to use joint models and settings, independently of the origin or the timber species.
