Due Process in the Allocation of Government Benefits in China

The main function of a modem government is focused on providing social welfare to social members, i.e., to meet people's needs for a better life. Nowadays, the government provides the social vulnerable groups with various benefits in housing, employment, education and medicare. Administrative procedure plays a key role in the operation of government benefits allocation. The principle of due process regulates the exercise of the administrative organs' power, and offers a series of procedural guarantees to the administrative counterparts. In the case of failure to observe the principle, remedies should be made available to the administrative counterparts. Due process in government benefits allocation prevents new forms of social injustice and guarantees that all the people equally share the fruit of the country's rapid economic growth.
