Cloud Simulation Platform (CSP) is a new networked modeling and simulation platform, whose aim is to strengthen the effectiveness and stability of simulation application, and to provide a collaborative and pervasive simulation environment. The development of virtualization technology provided a way to achieve the aim above. How to combine virtualization technology and simulation technology is becoming an important content research of CSP. This paper presented three application patterns of Cloud Simulation based on virtualization technology. The paper first proposed the concept of virtualization-based simulation technology, and then discussed three application pattern of cloud simulation based on virtualization-based simulation technology, which are supported by the multi-user collaboration mechanism. Finally an example of an aircraft collaborative design simulation system developed by CSP was given to prove that the three application pattern could achieve the collaborative and pervasive environment for users.
