Nonlinear Dynamics Simulation of Compacting Mechanism with Double-eccentric Vibrator of Asphalt-Paver

Becanse there will cause horizontal-direction force when single-eccentric vibrator of asphalt-paver is working, the horizontal-direction force has negative impact on the effect of compaction and finish. To solve this problem, doubleeccentric vibrator was proposed, at the same time, four-DOF vibration differential equation of the compacting mechanism had been established. The state-space model of compacting mechanism was constructed. Based on computer simulation by using MatLab/Shnulink, the influences of parameters variety to the dynamic characteristic of system were analyzed. The research results indicated that double-eccentric vibrator for asphalt paver can provide twice the compacting force, besides, the parameters of vibrator and tamper influenced screed more than compacting beams'. To obtain a smooth mat, choosing proper parameters of vibrator and tamper was very important.
