摘要

The objective of the current research is the characterization of the oxidation behavior of magnesium powder in different atmospheres, to offer a better understanding of the kinetics of the combustion reaction of magnesium as an alternative to aluminum. In the present case non-isothermal thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) were used to investigate the nitridation behavior of magnesium and aluminum powder in the temperature range between 400 °C and 800 °C or 1400°C.
