摘要

In order to improve the penetration performance of projectiles to ceramic composite armor, the nose of 30mm standard projectile is replaced by a toughened ceramic nose, and the armor-piercing performance of ceramic-nose projectile to ceramic/A3 steel composite targets has been experimentally researched. Under the guidance of Impact Dynamics Theory, this article mainly analyzed and compared, under DOP method, the armor-piercing performance between 30mm ceramic-nose projectile and 30mm standard projectile to the ceramic/A3 steel composite targets, especially focusing on the effects made by different nose structures and materials. Under same conditions, a comparative analysis on the aperture and the depth of perforation on the armor plates as well as the residual mass of bullet core has been given. A numerical simulation has been built and computed by ANSYS/LS-DYNA, whose results mainly meet the test results. Combined with the simulation results, further analysis on the penetration performance is given in terms of the residual mass of bullet core. The results show that the ceramic nose has a great effect on the protection of bullet core which lays a foundation for its applying in other warheads.
