Collaboration with IT amp; cops for emergency communications

Due to high profile campus shootings and increasing incidents on college campuses, we have seen increasing emphasis on quick and accurate communication with students, staff and faculty. The University of Illinois' first attempt at implementing an emergency notification system taught us some important lessons. Using these lessons, we took a different approach in creating our current system, Illini-Alert.
