AN EMPLOYEE RECRUITMENT SYSTEM BASED ON FUZZY ANALYTIC HIERARCHY PROCESS FOR CABIN CREW

Human resources management plays a crucial role for companies in a competitive environment. Employee recruitment, which is a complicated selection process that aims to employ adequate person by mostly using indefinite and uncertain data, is an essential part of the human resources management. For air transportation, cabin crew has a distinct importance on both providing/maintaining the passengers’ satisfaction and assuring the flight safety and security. When the role of the cabin crew in the air transportation process is considered, it is very important to select the most appropriate candidate for the cabin crew. As a multiple criteria decision-making problem, selection processes are highly complex in practice. Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) is a decision-making method, which compares all alternatives pair-wisely, based on different criteria considering their hierarchy, to make the best decision. Yet problems like employee recruitment includes qualitative factors that make it hard for the decision maker to make comparison with real numbers. To overcome this problem fuzzy numbers is proposed. The main purpose of this study is to provide a cabin crew selection approach to minimize subjective judgments. In this context, an employee recruitment system based on Fuzzy AHP (FAHP) is proposed for an airline, to employ cabin crew.
