The recreative design of package material has become a new focus of modern package design. The material design will upgrade and extend the scope of designing, and bring more inspirations to designers. The shift of the emphasis in package design from words and shapes to materials and characteristics has offered designers more choices of materials and improved their ways of expressing themselves in designing. In this way package design become more diversified, which enriched the existing packaging market. This paper starts with an introduction to market demand and the forms and characteristics of recreative design, and illustrates the artistic techniques in recreative design, which combined and integrated various artistic forms into existing materials. In recreative designs, designers try to find characteristics of new materials and new visual effects of different materials. In this way, new materials are made from the old ones, and the package materials can better suit the cultural orientation of the product itself, making it stand out in the fierce market competitions.
