Method for covering e.g. packaging material by shrinking packaging film, involves stopping introduction of hot air when shrinking process is completed, removing covers from packaging material, and cooling packaging material
The method involves providing a packaging material (1) that is kept on a drawn shrink packaging film. A cover pair is created with open sides to two front ends of the material such that a gap is left between an inner surface of covers (2) and end surfaces (6) of the material to allow passing of hot air. An entire intermediate space between the covers and the material is air-tightly closed. The hot air is introduced and flown into the space. The introduction of hot air is stopped when a shrinking process is completed. The covers are removed from the material such that the material is cooled. The shrink packaging film is formed from thermoplastic resin such as polyolefin and PVC. An independent claim is also included for a device for covering a packaging material by a shrinking packaging film.
