To test the local textural inhomogeneities on the abnormal Goss grain kinetics in Fe-3%Si (grade HiB) sheets, a Monte Carlo simulation is used from two different EBSD maps. The Helming method is applied to improve the definition of the orientation classes used to specify the crystallographic components in the abnormal grain growth simulation. It consists in fitting the experimental texture measured by X-ray diffraction by several orientations modeled by gaussian functions. Then, the orientation classes are used to describe the distribution of grain boundary energy on experimental microstructures introduced as input data in the simulation.The results obtained from the two maps are compared and allow to enlighten several differences: So, the Goss grain kinetics are different and then the final microstructures after complete secondary recrystallization are also different. Moreover, the kinetics of other components can also present very important variations inducing the development of different mechanisms (normal growth or no of the {111 }<112> component, ...).
