In the case presented in this paper,the LS model is taken into account for the two-dimensional axisymmetric cylinder.The distribution of temperature field and stresses field in a 2D cylinder is obtained by using FEM (Finite Element Method) with Newmark algorithm.Numerical simulation is performed when the coupled term in modified heat conduction is considered as a damping thermal source.A comparison of uncoupled and coupled theories of generalized thermoelasticity is given.The comparison of coupling effect between LS theory and conventional theory is investigated.Compared to the conventional theory,when using LS,it is found that the differences is limited to the temperature field and stress field in macro scale,although it do get a delay in the response of temperature;and affect the distribution of the dynamic stresses in the cylinder at the beginning of the heating.However,both thermal signals and transient thermal stresses have the property of vibration from the results of the simulations,which is consistence with the nature of the generalized thermoelasticity.
