The members of Vierendeel trusses are subjected to substantial bending moments as well as axial and shear forces.Double-web Vierendeel truss has two vertical web members between adjacent segments thus providing more materials to resist the bending moments of branchs and reducing the bending moments of chords.There are few technical references regarding the behaviors of the kind of connections.In this paper the strength of unstiffened tt-connections of square HSS in Vierendeel trusses under the three kinds of combined loads was investigated by using uniform design approach and nonlinear finite element method.The strength formula was compared with the existing linear relationship between axial load and bending moment of Vierendeel T- connection.Analysis confirms that the equation is conservative for Vierendeel π- connections.
