Appropriate adjustment of the opening-stiffness is one of the measures on squeak suppression.Taking stiffness analysis and optimal modification of key components of a BIW model can diagnose and improve the problem of opening-stiffness deficit.Based on the modification requirement of high-stiffness and lightweight,a relative sensitivity method is put forward.It is calculated as the element strain-energy-density divided by the mass sensitivity.By weighing among the real stiffness contributions,an appropriate modified project is proposed and a more reasonable modified performance is gained.The results reveal that the relative sensitivity method proposed by this paper is reasonable and effective on squeak suppression problem.
