In this paper, the suitable roasting temperature of oxidized pellets was analyzed, which must satisfy the request of strength, prevent the hematite from decomposing and prevent pellets combining together. Three kinds of pellets have been studied for finding out their suitable roasting temperature respectively. For acid pellets, it was mainly considered to satisfy the request of strength, and its suitable roasting temperature ranged from 1220 °C to 1340 °C. For magnesia pellets, magnesia reacted with hematite to form a solid solution and magnesioferrite which activated the decomposition of hematite, so the suitable roasting temperature was in the range of 1230-1280 °C when the content of MgO was 2.5%. And for fluxed pellets, because it was easy to form liquid phase, the suitable roasting temperature was between 1200 °C and 1280 °C when the basicity of pellets was 0.8.
