PURPOSE:To make operations semiautomatic and accomplish safe control by forming devices for supplying of products to be treated, oxidizing roasting, cooling, grinding and filling into a vessel into one body at the time of subjecting the defectives of sintered UO2 pellets as fuel for atomic reactors to oxidizing roasting. CONSTITUTION:After cooling of boat racks 15a carrying boats 16 filled with sintered pellets 17 is completed, they are arrayed on a working surface 46 by a vertical moving mechanism 29. Next, U2O3 powder in which the pellets 17 have already been oxidized is automatically filled into a vessel 52 by a grinder 49 and a powder filler 51. The emptied boats 16 are filled with fresh pellets 17, and are placed on the boat racks 15a, which are then put into an oxidation furnace 11. Upon completion of the oxidizing roasting, the racks 15a carrying the U3O8 powder are transferred from the K position in a frame 26 into G position. At the same time, the boat racks carrying the pellets 17 prior to the oxidizing roasting having been kept standing by are moved upward from the K position up to an L position, where the door 13 of the furnace 11 is opened and the racks are inserted into a A position and are thereby roasted.
