Gasoline/air mixtures are studied in our research as propellant of air-breathing PDEs. Experiments are carried out in a square detonation chamber under the tests condition: normal temperature and pressure, SMD of liquid gasoline spray 20~30 μm, equivalence ratio 1.2~1.3, dynamic filling velocity 10m/s. Many phenomena such as flame acceleration, shock initiation, hot spots, detonation initiatbn and propagation in tubes with/without obstacles are observed. Non-ideal detonation are found in most cases with propagation velocity 1000~1500m/s and wave structures of detonation interacting with different obstacles are distinct to CJ detonation wave(~1800m/s) in smooth tubes. Cell structures of these mixtures are also recorded on soot foils.
