Aggressive driving has been an increasing concern among motorists and traffic safety researchers. Evidence was presented indicating that media depictions of risky and aggressive driving in television and cinema, personality traits, anonymity, and gender all are involved in the manifestation of aggressive driving. Aggressive driving as a multi-determined phenomenon may require the initiation of simultaneous approaches for its reduction including: (1) technological, (2) incentive-based strategies, (3) psychotherapeutic, (4) vehicle design, (5) legislation and policing, (6) media campaigns, and (7) the promotion of mass transportation. Evaluation research and its reporting are essential in promoting safer motoring.
