Nanoestructured systems are characterized,mainly, by compartmentalize the drug behavior in aprivate environment and by direct the drug release,proving that systems can change their properties anddrug delivery control. The mixture of surfactant andwater, in presence or in absence of oil phase, enablethe formation of different aggregates, resulting inmany structures, as microemulsions and liquidcrystalline mesophases (lamellar and hexagonal).Different systems were obtained by changing theconstituint proportions, and these systems haveshowed the ability to incorporate large amounts ofdrugs poorly soluble in water, and they act ascontrolled drug releasing systems and modulate thetransport of drugs through biological membranes.
