Kinetic study of liposome liposome-encapsulated prilocaine and prilocaine solution injected intra intra-orally inrats

摘要

The aim of this study was to determine the plasmaticlevels of liposomal and plain prilocaine after intraoralinjections in rats, throughout an innovative techniquebased on energy-dispersive X-ray fluorescence (EDXRF)spectrometry. The results obtained demonstrated that theencapsulation of 3% prilocaine reduced the absorption ofthe local anesthetic and that the EDXRF is a useful andviable technique to determine the pharmacokinetic oflocal anesthetics.
