Key Factors of VoIP Adoption in Chinese Large Companies: the cases of Air China and Harvest Fund

Voice over internet protocol (VoIP) is a relatively new telecommunication technology, which allows the transfer of voice and data information at the same time on a single line (network) to help improve the efficiency and effectiveness of communication. Our paper explores the key factors influencing the adoption of VoIP and its applications in Chinese large companies through a dual case study approach and triangulation methodology. Case studies, including archival data, in-depth interviews with key stakeholders and a questionnaire survey were carried out for our study. Through the analysis of our primary data sources and case studies, we put forward a theoretical construct to describe the critical factors and their relationship regarding the adoption of VoIP by such large companies.
