On behalf of the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs of the People's Republic of China, I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations on the successful opening of the conference. And I would like to convey my warmest welcome to all the experts and scholars here today from home and abroad! Since the reform and opening-up of China, we have made great achievements in the citrus industry due to the right scientific decision-making of the governments at all levels, the enormous efforts invested by science and technology professionals and the production and management staff, coupled with the strategies like ' sending out and inviting'. Standardized cultivation technology featured with high production, superior quality, ecology and safety has been popularized in a large-scale in citrus producing areas of China. Application of elite cultivars and cultivation in optimum regions has been enormously responsible for developing agriculture, flourishing rural communities in southern China.
