The field-test on the bearing capacity behavior of the new prestressed pipe-pile with ribs and normal straight-shafted piles has been carried out. It indicates that the bearing capacity of the former increases by 30 percent than that of the latter. In order to know the contribution of the new prestressed pipe-pile with ribs, the composition of uplift resistance of the new prestressed pipe-pile with rib is analyzed by FEM. The development of each elementary composition along with the uplift is studied. The sensitivity analysis is done for different cross-sections, and different annular flange rib pitches are changed in the analysis respectively. The interaction mechanism of the new prestressed pipe-pile with ribs is known by comparing the result computed at different values of the same parameter. Finally, some constructive suggestions about designing the new prestressed pipe-pile with ribs are proposed by combining theoretical analysis with practice.
