Interfacial strength and structure development of Metallocene-PE/PP heat-sealed films were investigated in this study. The interfacial strength of Metallocene PE(mPE)/Ziglear-Natta PP(zPP) films was significantly higher than that of Zigler-Natta PE(zPE)/zPP films. It was also found that the decrease of mPE's density and increase of mPE's MFR caused the improvement of interfacial strength of PE/PP heat-sealed films. The results might be due to the penetration behavior of mPE's molecules into zPP amorphous phase, which was enhanced by lower entirely melting temperature of mPE and higher mobility of amorphous phase of zPP at the heat-sealing temperatures.
