One of the more popular filled polymer materials has been wood flour with polyolefins and this will be used as the example throughout this paper.Processing other highly filled polymer and filler choices will often follow the same logic as that with wood fillers,so the discussion is somewhat generic in that respect.In the realm of profile extrusion utilizing wood filled plastic materials,there are a few machinery approaches that have proven successful.Although these machinery setups will be discussed and briefly compared,the single screw machine being fed pre-pelletized material will be the main thrust of the paper.
