摘要

Grafting of Glycidyl Methacrylate (GMA) has been done on Ethylene-1-Octene (EOC) copolymer in the presence of supercritical CO2. The grafting reaction is discussed. Concentration of GMA was varied to determine the change in grafting efficiency. Fourier Transform Infra Red Spectroscopy results indicated chemical bond formation between EOC and GMA as the result of reaction. The EOC-g-GMA copolymers were characterized for grafting efficiency and grafting ratios by elemental analysis and FTIR methods. Wide Angle X-Ray Diffraction technique is also used to detect any change in crystallinity of EOC following grafting with GMA.
