Long-period Magnetotelluric soundings in Eastern Tibetan Plateau

The area of Eastern Himalayan Syntaxis (EHS) and surroundings is a key place for the study of dynamic mechanism of the uplift and post collisional deformation in Himalaya and Tibetan plate au.Experiments in the pioneer study of EHS3D project (Three-Dimensional Deep Structures and Dynamics of Eastern Himalayan Syntaxis and Surroundings, Bai Denghai, 2003) showed that the area featured by a conductive lower crust and upper mantle. The electric structures of the lithosphere were poorly probed by conventional MT soundings. In EHS3D project from 2007, long period (up to 104 s )MT (LMT) measurements have been carried out with LEMI-417. Here the primary result of LMT experiment along line EHS3D-3 is presented.
