The problem of scheduling multiple and large-scale hull blocks in shipbuilding is considered. Not only traditional resources like machines and labors, but also spatial resource like assembly working plate is taken into account. Based on the above consideration, an integrated spatial scheduling is proposed, which includes four modules. Decompositions based on time and spatial source are proposed to decrease the scale and difficulty of spatial scheduling problem. Aiming at each spatial scheduling sub-problem decomposed in one working plate and in short period, Particle swarm optimization (PSO) is used to deal with it. Finally, an actual case from a China shipyard is used to verify the method and system.
