摘要

The flowfield in a crenellated radial labyrinth seal has been investigated by a Taylor-Galerkin FEM coupled with a pressure correction method. The FEM procedure is verified by appling it to an axisymmetric backward-facing step flow. The numerical results of a coupled pair of tooth and cavity of the seal have showed that the engaging length of seal teeth has an important effect on the sealing properties.
