摘要

The present work describes a theoretical studyto demonstrate the combined influence of theeffect of pocket size at the outlet of supplyholes and the journal misalignment on theperformance of an orifice compensated holeentryhybrid journal bearing system. TheReynolds equation governing the flow oflubricant in the clearance space between thejournal and bearing together with equation offlow through orifice restrictor has been solvedusing FEM. The journal misalignment hasbeen accounted for by defining a pair ofmisalignment parameters sigma and delta.The effect of pocket size at the outlet ofsupply holes has been accounted by defininga non-dimensional parameter which isfunction of diameter of pocket and journaldiameter. The numerically simulated resultshave been obtained for the symmetric andasymmetric hole-entry journal bearingconfiguration for the most generally usedvalues of bearing operating and geometricparameters.
