Architectural heritage is a worldwide cultural resource whose high maintenance and repair costs strongly weigh on public budgets. Structural health monitoring and model updating are becoming essential tools to evaluate ancient structures' assessment. Reliability and robustness are key-words for updating techniques due to enormous uncertainty characterising both mechanical properties and global structural behaviour of masonry constructions. In this memory we present a stochastic multiple model approach for model updating able to define different groups of models which likely reproduce an huge amount of characters not surely detectable otherwise. The Research Unit to which the authors belong have applied the mentioned method to adjust the FE model of the Holy Shroud Chapel in Turin, computed in range of the operations to restore the Chapel, heavily damaged by a destructive fire in 1997.
