Chemoprevention of Tumor Metastasis by Liposomal p-Sitosterol Intake

摘要

Chemopreventive effect of liposomal β-sitosterol on tumor metastasis was investigated. Orally administered liposomal β-sitosterol nhibited metastatic colony formation after intravenous injection of B16BL6 cells, though it was not absorbed into plasma. These results suggest that daily liposomal p-sitosterol intake prevents tumor metastasis due to enhancement of gut immune surveillance systems.
