An analytical approach and a finite element approach for modelling spring-inare presented. The analytical approach takes into account the low shear stiffness ofthe material in the rubbery state before it is fully cured. The finite elementmodelling is based on a two-step analysis considering the material as passingthrough distinct rubbery and glassy states. It is shown that shear-lag through thethickness can lead to a significant effect of thickness on spring-in angle, as has alsobeen observed experimentally.
