The objective of this research project is to gain dynamic similitude relationship of steel-concrete hybrid structures for high-rise building. Experimental study on the mechanical performance of 24 copperplates and 9 iron wires is carried out. The results show that the constitutive equation of copperplate can be simulated by ideal elastic-plastic model. With the increase of the rate of applying load, the ultimate and the modulus of the copperplate will increase. The ultimate strength and modulus of copperplates will decrease about 23% to 38% and 73% to 98% when they are burned by alcohol burner. The failure mode of copperplates will change from brittle failure to ductility failure when they are burned by alcohol burner. The elongation rate of iron wires is from 20% to 36% and the modulus of the iron wires is 1/3.5-1/2.5 times of that of the steel bars. Some suggestions on the design of similitude relationship and the construction of the models are presented at last. Shaking table tests on 1/20 and 1/30 scale of steel-concrete hybrid structures for high-rise building is conducted. The shaking table test result showed that there is good dynamic similitude relationship between the two different scale models, such as the dynamic characteristics, acceleration response and displacement response. The 1/20 and 1/30 scale models have good similitude relationships considering the effect of material mechanical performance, construction.
