Paper is devoted to a famous 35 years history of remarkable cooperation of the Soviet and Indian experts, to big personal contribution V. Kovtounenko to the sources of indian space technology. Technical aspects of the cooperation, of the received results, promotion to development of space researches in India are analyzed. The paper tells about results of the materialization of the agreement providing a rendering to the Indian party of the advisory and technical help in creation scientific spacecraft, in maintenance of its launching by the Soviet booster rocket. Practical realization of the specified agreement has been assigned DB Yu (Pivdenne) in Dnipropetrovsk. The potential of the Indian space science is shown, it is told about arrival of the President of India in DB Pivdenne in Dnipropetrovs'k, about potential opportunities of revival of space cooperation between Ukraine and India.
