“After the success of the Gyeongbu Expressway, Korea’s road network grew immensely, both quantitatively and qualitatively. The total length of expressways in the country increased 47-fold from the 1960s to 2014. National highways and the local road network increased by 2.4 times and 1.7 times, respectively, during the same period.
