Circular Economy is a new paradigm that proposes that the production processes mimic nature, where there are no waste and everything is used. The current focus of our productive processes are linear: resources (materials, energy) consumed and waste goes to deposits that are a permanent and growing problem for countries. In the circular economy, resources are considered "nutrient" of the system, once are used can be reused in other production processes. The purpose of this paper is to explore the opportunities of applying this approach in road infrastructure projects in Chile which is an industry that consumes a lot of resources per year, both material and energy. The use of this approach can generate significant economic benefits to the industry that is necessary to begin to study, in addition to the sustainability benefits generated. This paper will focus on describing the main opportunities for application of circular economy Chile, and the main benefits that are detected in the first analysis. For this reason, the life cycle of a road project will be analyzed, identifying opportunities for implementing this in each of its phases.
