A three-dimensional mathematical model is proposedto calculate the natural ventilation properties for anisolated room with different opening configurations.The Reynolds averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS)models is adopted and the standard k-εturbulencemodel is selected to study the wind-driven crossnatural ventilation. Flow around a building, internalventilation in building, pressure field are describedand circulating flow phenomenon is captured. Thecalculated pressure coefficients on the mid-plane ofbuilding are compared with those of experimentaldata. The results show that the steady flow pressurecoefficient has the same trend as the experimentalresults. It is also found that the plane of ventilatedzone seems to have larger at exit for a larger exit andmore air momentum transport would be carried byconvection with the increase of exit area. The modelcan be used for assigning comfortable locations forhuman inside the room.
