This paper presents the result of a numerical study conducted to investigate the effectiveness of spray layed-up fiber-reinforced polymer (SFRP) coating and carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) strips as repair systems for damaged concrete beams. A series of numerical simulations of third-point loading tests were conducted on reinforced concrete (RC) beams repaired with SFRP coating and CFRP strips to quantify the repair abilities of these two repair systems. The numerical tests yielded complete load-deflection (p-u) curves from which the increase in load-capacity, ductility and energy absorption was evaluated.
