with CO_2 storage. For this reason the methodology has been applied to the case study Schwarze Pumpe. Being a case study restricts the work from a feasibility study point of view, i.e. to identify the key safety factors that could be examined further, in the case an actual CO_2 storage project would be considered for the aquifer structure Schweinrich. Evaluation criteria for the study were CO_2 leakage levels from natural analogues. The study is based on the current available data, gathered in prior surveys, and on the use of simplified models. Results should be interpreted as preliminary, however, the results point out clearly which additional data should be gathered related to the long-term storage performance in case the site would be investigated further.
