摘要

This paper presents the application of a process-based hydrodynamics, waves, sediment transport, and morphological model to assess the performance of a barrier island restoration project in coastal Louisiana, USA. The results show that process-based numerical models can be very helpful during the design and optimization of restoration projects exposed to frequent storm impacts, including barrier island inundation and overwash. However, continued improvement of existing numerical models and modeling protocols is still required.
