The success of a bus rapid transit (BRT) scheme depends on how running ways are implemented as running ways contain very important elements such as road space for buses, sense of identity to public, main origins and destinations of travel demands which directly affect results of BRT schemes in terms of travel time savings, safety and capacity. Among BRT options are nearside bus lane and median bus way that are attracting a lot of attention all over the world. Bus lane system in Curitiba, TransJakarta bus way in Jakarta and TransMilenio bus way in Bogota are some examples.
