A Study on the Similarities and the Differences between the Cognitions of Western Theories and Chinese Enterprises on Motivation, Timing and Industrial Choice of Enterprises’ Diversification

The 140 papers on enterprises’ diversification published in the top Western journals, the open-ended surveys of 114 MBAs about the practices of Chinese enterprises’ diversification, and the public statements on enterprises’ diversification of 30 influential CEOs in recent China are served as the three parts of the research samples. Both the qualitative open coding and the qualitative factor analysis were employed to the three samples respectively, so as to develop the pilot scales of motivation, timing and industrial choice of diversification under the Chinese context.
