As customer expectations for space vehicle performance and life expectancy increase, theaerospace industry is faced with dramatic changes in the requirements for test data acquisition,evaluation and retention. These changes require not only the acquisition, evaluation andretention of system level test data but also unit level data to be stored and accessible for 10+years. The process of collecting, storing and retrieving these test data from multiple operatingsystems and multiple sources that generate data present a unique set of challenges that this paperwill address. The challenges, implementation strategy and lessons learned were forged togetherto arrive at several recommendations for the reader. The reader’s conclusion can simply be adecision based on cost versus schedule.
