In a project funded by the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI), Baker Engineering and Risk Consultants, Inc. (BakerRisk) is conducting field experiments subjecting full-scale load-bearing precast concrete panels to simulated blast loads. Multi-story, load-bearing precast panels are becoming more common in new building construction. The purpose of the field experiments is to investigate response limits for load-bearing reinforcedconcrete panels for use in antiterrorism design identified in the United States Army Corps of Engineers Protective Design Center (PDC) document [1].
