A REVISED ALGORITHM FOR MINIMUM INPUT TRACE TO A MULTIPLE-INPUT/MULTIPLEOUTPUT SYSTEM (MIMO) TO MATCH THE OUTPUT AUTOSPECTRAL DENSITIES
Many times the autospectral densities of a multiple output system can be defined, but sufficient information is not available to define the cross spectra of a positive definite output spectral density matrix (SDM). This paper presents a new algorithm to define the output SDM that will approximately minimize the trace of the input SDM given the output SDM autospectra. The approximate solution is closed form that does not require iterations. The algorithm has the advantage of being possible in implement in a vibration control system. In the vibration shaker case the input is the SDM of the electrical drives to shakers and the output is the acceleration SDM of the control responses.
