This study analyzed the area concentrations and the personal exposure concentrations to fine particulate (PM2.5),elemental carbon (EC), and organic carbon (OC) measured in trucking companies during the winter and the summer periods. The medians of the personal exposure concentrations measured in the areas are much greater than those of the area concentrations. The exposure concentrations (median) of smoking personal to PM2.5, EC and OC were much higher than those of non-smoking personal during the winter and the summer seasons. The area concentrations of PM2.5 in the dock and shop were in between the exposure concentrations of smoker and non-smoker to PM2.5 The area concentrations of PM2.5 during the winter season in the dock and shop were much higher than those during the summer season. The correlations between the PM2.5 and OC concentrations and between the PM2.5 and the total carbon (OC + EC) concentrations in both the area and the personal exposure concentrations during the winter were much higher than those during the summer. These correlations of personal concentrations were higher than those of area concentrations in the winter, while the correlations of area ooncentrations were higher than those of personal concentrations in the summer. However, all the correlations between OC and EC concentrations were very weak except a correlation between the area concentrations of the winter.
