摘要

In this paper, how to establish membership functions of fuzzy failure event is discussed, andespecially, an approach to obtain the membership function of the fuzzy failure event from the knownmembership function of fuzzy strength is studied in details. And then,a general digital simulation approachbased on the union operator of fuzzy set in fuzzy mathematics is given to calculate the membership of thefuzzy failure event of mechanical system from the above obtained membership functions, and failureprobability of mechanical system can be simulated. An example shows that the digital simulation approachis feasible and the simulated result fits the engineering experience.
